Arsenal to restore Emirates to original 60,600 capacity

Emirates Stadium

Arsenal will begin redevelopment work in the summer to restore the capacity of the Emirates Stadium to its original 60,600 figure.

The Gunners will add approximately 780 extra seats to Club Level, with the work set to be completed in the summer of 2019.

Their capacity had been reduced in recent seasons due to safety requirements and improvements to facilities for disabled supporters.

Arsenal's chief commercial officer Vinai Venkatesham told the club's website: "The development of Club Level is crucial to ensuring fan experience at games is at its best whilst also enabling us to stay at the forefront of stadium hospitality.

"As we continue to face high demand for tickets in all areas of Emirates Stadium, this is a significant investment to ensure that as many supporters as possible are able to watch the team play at Emirates Stadium."
