Arsenal fans have had to endure some poor performances in big games over the last couple of years.

But even by the standards of recent lamentable Gunners displays, the 4-0 defeat at Liverpool may have been a new low.

Arsene Wenger's men were, to put it bluntly, awful. The pundits (justifiably) tore into them. Jamie Carragher branded them 'cowards'. Gary Neville said they should all be transfer-listed.

Everyone, including just about every Arsenal fan on Earth, was appalled at certain elements of the Arsenal performance.

However, if there was one moment that summed up everything wrong with the display at Anfield, it came in in the build-up to Liverpool's opening goal.

Remarkably, as Liverpool started to attack down the right-hand side - a move which would eventually see Roberto Firmino put them in front, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Aaron Ramsey were not even looking at the play.

Standing on the opposite side of the pitch, Ramsey seemed to be in some sort of argument with the Arsenal bench, while Oxlade-Chamberlain was preparing to charge forward… seemingly unaware that his team didn't actually have the ball.

Both of them eventually realised what was going on and made an attempt to get back in and defend - but Firmino was still able to head The Reds in front.

Suffice to say, Arsenal fans were not impressed…

As for the Arsenal boss, his inner reaction was probably something along these lines:
