West Ham United have agreed terms with Bayer Leverkusen for the transfer of former Manchester United star Javier Hernandez to London Stadium.

Hernandez will fly to London in the next few days to finalise personal terms and have a medical with the east London club.

Slaven Bilic has been looking to strengthen his forward line and has been linked with a number of big strikers throughout the summer.

But he has finally got his man after Joint-Chairman David Sullivan pulled out all the stops to ensure the club beat off interest from a number of clubs to secure his signature.

Bilic, speaking to Mirror Football, said: "We are working hard and trying to be active in the transfer window.

"We have some very good forwards but they have been injured.

"We are trying to get a couple of strikers and it is not easy for us, but we are close and I am pretty sure that we will do something. Fingers crossed it is going to happen."
