Germany defender Shkodran Mustafi looks set to stay at Arsenal after they failed to agree a deal with Inter Milan.

Inter were offering a loan deal with a view to a permanent switch but were not able to reach the sort of figures Arsenal were demanding.

Arsenal signed Mustafi for £34m last summer and would have wanted close to that amount in the total package.

But Inter were well short and, unless they come back with drastically improved figures, that avenue now looks closed.

Arsenal are still likely to do a loan deal with Deportivo La Coruna for Lucas Perez to go back to his former club.

They are also likely to loan out Joel Campbell again despite him saying he wants a permanent switch or nothing.

Mathieu Debuchy could be stuck as there is nothing in the pipeline.
