Manchester United need Chelsea to complete the signing of Tiemoue Bakayoko if they are to land Nemanja Matic.

According to the Daily Mail , United remain keen on landing Matic this summer but they are playing a waiting game on whether the deal can be done.

Matic is expected to become surplus to requirements at Chelsea if they complete the signing of Bakayoko from Monaco in the coming weeks.

Bakayoko is in the final stages of talks with the Blues - and United are paying extra close attention to the deal.

However, United will still look to drive down the price for Matic, with Chelsea reportedly demanding up to £40million for his services.

Barcelona will reportedly swoop for Manchester United star Ander Herrera if they fail to land Marco Verratti from Paris Saint-Germain this summer.

Midfielder Verratti, 24, remains Barca's top target but PSG are reluctant to part with one of their prized assets.

The Spanish giants refuse to give up the pursuit and will step up their efforts to force through a deal if the player expresses a desire to leave.

However, Thursday's front page of Spanish publication SPORT — which carries a picture of Herrera alongside the headline "Plan B a Verratti" — suggests they will look elsewhere if necessary.

“I am happy at Atletico and I feel valued but everyone would like to earn a bit more money to be able to help out the family," Saul said.

“I’m fine at Atletico. I don’t want to leave. It was hard to get the confidence of Cholo [Diego Simeone] and now that I have it, it would be very difficult to start from zero at another team.

“I don’t see myself outside Atletico, something very surprising would have to happen.”
