Liverpool are on the cusp of signing Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain but there could be more drama on deadline day with the Reds eager to spend a whopping £175m.

As well as the Arsenal star, Jurgen Klopp wants Virgil van Dijk, who could be signed for £70m.

While Monaco sensation Thomas Lemar remains a possibility and the Reds will attempt to seal a stunning £70m deal for the France international, report the Times.

The trio of signings could proper Liverpool into title contention and banish any negativity after Philippe Coutinho's desperate attempts to leave Anfield for Barcelona.

It promises to be a busy day in Merseyside ahead of Thursday's 11pm deadline.

Liverpool have agreed a deal to sign Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.

Arsenal have been demanding £40m and Liverpool now expect to complete the deal in the next 24 hours.

A six-year deal has been agreed with the player, and a medical could take place this evening at St George's Park - where he is currently training with England ahead of their World Cup qualification double-header.

However, Oxlade-Chamberlain has permission to miss the England squad's flight tomorrow to Malta if he needs more time to complete the switch.

The Reds have beaten champions Chelsea to the transfer in what is a remarkable coup for manager Jurgen Klopp.

The player's management company, Colossal Sports Management, tweeted that they have a "deal agreed" for one of their clients to join the Reds, though the tweet has now been deleted.

Juventus are "monitoring" signing Liverpool midfielder Emre Can.

The Serie A champions are hoping to take advantage of the Reds signing Naby Keita - although the Senegalese man will remain at RB Leipzig until next summer.

German international Can is out of contract at Anfield at the end of next season.

Reds bosses are yet to nail Can down yet in negotiations, with rumours Juve have already agreed a deal with him.

Juve CEO Beppe Marotta refused to confirm an agreement with Can but admitted the Italian giants are keeping tabs on a potential transfer.

He told Calcio Mercato: “Emre Can is a great player, I don’t know if he will sign a new contract, we will definitely monitor the situation."
