Liverpool sent scouts to watch Bayer Leverkusen starlet Kai Havertz.

The teenager starred for Germany's Under-19 side in their 5-1 win over Belarus on Wednesday as he scored four goals and assisted the other.

According to the Daily Mail , the Reds had scouts at the game, as did Manchester United and Arsenal.

Havertz has broken into Leverkusen's first-team this season making four appearances in the Bundesliga, drawing comparisons to Michael Ballack in the process.

Steven Gerrard insists Liverpool will soon be back in the top four - despite their stuttering start.

Liverpool are seventh in the Premier League after winning just three of their opening seven matches and Gerrard says it is too early to judge them.

“We’re seven games into a Premier League campaign - it’s no time to panic,” said the Reds legend, who is now the club’s Under-18s coach.

“We’ve got a wonderful manager and coaching staff that are looking after these players"

Another tough night for Oxlade-Chamberlain

England fans have taken to Twitter to voice their displeasure over Liverpool midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.

The 24-year-old struggled in England's 2018 World Cup qualifier against Slovenia and was subbed off in the 64th minute for Jesse Lingard.

Upon exiting the pitch, Chamberlain kicked a water bottle in frustration.

The former Arsenal star has failed to make an impact at Liverpool since moving for £35million on transfer deadline day, and Gareth Southgate shocked fans when he listed The Ox in England's starting line up on Thursday night.
