Liverpool will decide today whether or not they will make a move for Arsenal's wantaway midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, report the Liverpool Echo.

The England international has turned downed the chance to seal a £40million move to Chelsea because his heart is set on playing for Jurgen Klopp.

Oxlade-Chamberlain is viewed as a suitable alternative if Liverpool can't negotiate the signing of Monaco attacking midfielder Thomas Lemar.

Talks over a potential £75million swoop for the France international continued on Tuesday.

One of the reasons why Oxlade-Chamberlain snubbed Chelsea was because they would have played him as a wing-back and he sees his future in the centre of midfield.

Liverpool are unlikely to bid as high as Chelsea for a player who is out of contract next summer.

Arsenal have been reluctant to do business with Liverpool this summer and if they don't agree a fee with the Reds then Oxlade-Chamberlain is prepared to stay put this season before leaving the Emirates on a free transfer in 2018.
