Juventus are "monitoring" signing Liverpool midfielder Emre Can.

The Serie A champions are hoping to take advantage of the Reds signing Naby Keita - although the Senegalese man will remain at RB Leipzig until next summer.

German international Can is out of contract at Anfield at the end of next season.

Reds bosses are yet to nail Can down yet in negotiations, with rumours Juve have already agreed a deal with him.

Juve CEO Beppe Marotta refused to confirm an agreement with Can but admitted the Italian giants are keeping tabs on a potential transfer.

He told Calcio Mercato: “Emre Can is a great player, I don’t know if he will sign a new contract, we will definitely monitor the situation."

Marotta is proud he was able to keep Alex Sandro away from Chelsea this summer.

The Blues made a £63m bid for the Brazilian left-back but was hastily rebuffed.

Marotta added: “We must rate the transfer market of each team considering the players a club sign and the players a club don’t sell. Just look at Alex Sandro and other players.

"We managed to fill the woes created by certain sales and we strengthen the team on the wings. We used to have a great team and we still have an amazing team. We lost the Champions League final but we reached it.”
