Jack Wilshere is doing his injury rehabilitation at Bournemouth — a fact that will cast fresh doubt over his Arsenal future.

England midfielder Wilshere is recovering from a broken leg suffered while on a season-long loan with the Cherries, and has not played since April 15.

But the fact he has not returned to Arsenal for his rehab suggests the Gunners are not in a rush to get him back.

Wilshere has enjoyed a good spell at Bournemouth , and the Gunners have begun contract talks with him as he only has a year left on his existing deal.

However, the feeling is that's more of a move to protect their asset than a sign he has a long-term future at the Emirates.

Manchester City have a long-standing interest in the player, with manager Pep Guardiola a known admirer, but often-injured Wilshere would surely have to prove his fitness first.

West Ham are also watching developments with interest.

Bournemouth appear to be focusing on trying to sign Chelsea defender John Terry and Sunderland striker Jermain Defoe this summer.
