Diego Costa is closing in on a return to Atletico Madrid - and could re-join the Spanish club today.
The striker has been in self-imposed exile from Chelsea after being told by Antonio Conte that he was no longer part of his plans.
Costa has long desired to return to Atletico where he spent six years over two spells.
And reports in Spain suggest he could complete his move shortly after a £54million fee was agreed between the two clubs.
Costa, who has been in his birth country Brazil while the saga has dragged on, could not play for the La Liga side until January, however as they remain under a transfer ban.
The player's family are believed to have moved to Madrid in anticipation of the move, a delegation from his former and soon-to-be-new club travelled to London to thrash out a deal and Costa is expected to fly to Spain this week.
