Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe is running the rule over £6million-rated Atalanta keeper Marco Sportiello.

With long-term fitness doubts over Adam Federici and Artur Boruc, the Cherries are looking to strengthen that position.

Sportiello, 23, has impressed for his Italian club this season and Bournemouth, who bagged their third successive win at the weekend, are set to make their move next month.

The Cherries recently endured a spell without their two first-choice keepers, forcing them to field Ryan Allsop against Everton and recall 18-year-old Jordan Holmes from seventh-tier Weymouth.
