Arsenal appear intent on banishing their disappointing transfer window by lining up ambitious targets for January and beyond.

The Gunners are the latest side to be linked with Bayern Munich star Thomas Muller, who is not being utilised in his favoured role by Carlo Ancelotti.

The Germany international has plenty of admirers though, report Bild, with Chelsea, Liverpool and Juventus all likely to make offers come January.

Arsenal would see Muller as the perfect replacement for Alexis Sanche, if he leaves next summer on a free, and the 27-year-old may be keen if he fails to regain a starring role at the Allianz.

Arsene Wenger insists Alexis Sanchez will be “fit and focused” when he returns to Arsenal’s title challenge.

Gunners boss Wenger believes the uncertainty unsettled his squad and is the reason why the transfer window should be shut before the season starts.

Wenger wants to throw Sanchez straight into Saturday’s game with Bournemouth and claims he will not have a problem for the rest of the season despite being out of contract next summer.
