Leicester have had an approach for Calum Chambers knocked back by Arsenal .

Leicester made their move for Chambers after seeing a £25m offer for Jonny Evans knocked back.

The Foxes are understood to have bid £18m for 22 year-old Chambers yesterday.

The Leicester offer would give Arsenal profit on the £16m deal they agreed with Southampton to sign Chambers in 2014.

But the Gunners are believed to want £28m for Chambers who spent last season on loan at Middlesbrough.

Evans' hopes of landing a move to Manchester City are in the balance after the West Brom defender arrived at Manchester Airport with the Northern Ireland squad to catch a flight ahead of his country's World Cup clash with San Marino.

City are yet to increase their offer for the former Manchester United defender after having an initial £22million bid knocked back by the Baggies.

Arsenal and Leicester are also interested in Evans, but the 29-year-old would prefer a move to the Etihad.
