Manchester City have been back in touch with Arsenal for Alexis Sanchez this morning.

They have told Arsenal they are willing to pay above £60million and a bid will follow after seeing their opening offer of £50m rejected.

Sanchez wants to join Man City and is on standby to go.

But they know it depends on Arsenal getting one in, with Julian Draxler from Paris Saint-Germain looking most likely.

Germany international Draxler is a long time target for Arsene Wenger and Arsenal believe he is attainable.

Germany manager Joachim Low, who made Draxler the fulcrum of his midfield at the Confederations Cup and was rewarded with the ex-Schalke and Wolfburg man being named player of the tournament, says the playmaker is not someone PSG are looking to trade.

“I know for a fact that Paris don’t want to sell him,” Low said. “They are convinced of his outstanding qualities.

“He made such a big step forward there. I am convinced that he will come out on top at Paris. By now, he’s already playing a big role for us.”
