Jose Mourinho was in spiky mood as he addressed the press on Friday.

Speaking ahead of Chelsea's game against West Ham on Saturday, the Portuguese cut a tetchy figure throughout his press conference, culminating in a rebuke for the reporters present.

Mourinho refused to comment on the danger posed by West Ham flyer Dimitri Payet and then accused the British press of having "no respect".

Asked about the visit of South Africa's rugby players to Chelsea's Cobham training ground this week, the Blues boss said: “You are not going to get any funny headlines out of me.

“I treat you the same way your bosses treat me: no respect. No respect.

“I am not speaking about football.

“[On the subject of] football, I will expect every type of critic, even the stupid ones.

"[But] private life and stupid things that you bring to the light...

“I don’t like it, so we go to a different level of professional relations.”

Mourinho also hinted that he was annoyed over constant questions about Eden Hazard.

The Belgian returned to the starting XI against Dynamo Kiev after being dropped for the game with Aston Villa at the weekend. He earned some praise from his manager, although Mourinho refused to confirm that he will start on Saturday.

“He played the last match for 90 minutes and was part of the compact team that kept that clean sheet,” Mourinho said.

“You have lots of people giving opinions and speaking about him. I’m happy with his contribution against Dynamo and that’s it.

Will he play against West Ham?

“I don’t know.”
