Serie A new boys Benevento Calcio were beaten 2-1 by Juventus this weekend, a pretty fair result all things considered.
While the Old Lady haven't quite set the world alight so far this year, they were last season's Champions League runner-up and Serie A winners, they're currently second in the table, and they were playing at home - so they really shouldn't have had any problems against the Italian minnows.
And they didn't thanks to goals from Gonzalo Higuain and Juan Cuadrado, after falling behind to the away side on the 20 minute mark.
The defeat was Benevento Calcio's twelfth from their first 12 games of the campaign. That's right, they're still yet to register a single point so far this season.
The Serie A new boys are rooted to the bottom of the table, eight points behind Sussuolo just outside the relegation zone, and 32 points behind leaders Napoli.
Oh, and it gets worse. The defeat also saw the Italian minnows equal a shocking record dating back 87 years - which was set by Manchester United.
In the 1930/31 campaign, the Red Devils weren't quite the English powerhouses they would later become, and lost their first 12 games of the season.
Manchester United - who were relegated that year - managed to break the curse in their 13th game (unlucky for some) by beating Birmingham City 2-0.
But they had already set the record for the worst start to a new season of any team in Europe's top five leagues - England, Spain, Germany, Italy and France.
Benevento Calcio, who are known as the Wizards, could go one better - sorry, worse - if they lose to Sassuolo in their next game.
Here's hoping they find that little bit of magic to break the curse, just like the Red Devils managed to do all those years ago.
