Sammy Lee has left Crystal Palace as the club's backroom shake up continues.

Former England boss Roy Hodgson replaced sacked Dutman Frank de Boer earlier this week.

But there is no room for his former Liverpool right-hand man Lee who has followed De Boer out of the Selhurst Park door.

Lee served as Sam Allardyce's assistant as Palace survived relegation last season.

But the former Three Lions coach has now left the Premier League club along with Orlando Trustfall, brought in by De Boer also as an assistant manager, and head of performance Ryland Morgans.

Lee, who has had two spells working on England's coaching staff, has been replaced by Ray Lewington.

A statement on the club's website read: "We would like to thank Orlando, Sammy and Ryland for their efforts during their time in south London, and wish them all the very best for the future."

New boss Hodgson takes charge of the south London club for the first time as the Eagles - who are the only Premier League club not to score or record a point this season - take on Southampton.

Palace have moved to beef up their backroom staff with the appointment of former Republic of Ireland midfielder Steven Reid as a first-team coach.

The 36-year-old has worked on the Reading coaching staff for the past two years after joining them from Burnley following his retirement from playing.
