Manchester United comfortably beat Benfica 2-0 on Tuesday night, carrying on their fine Champions League form.

But it was another frustrating night in front of goal for Romelu Lukaku. The striker has now gone five games without scoring, his longest drought in 18 months.

Following United's victory over Spurs, Jose Mourinho spoke on the issue - and insisted Lukaku does more than just find the back of the net.

"What he does for the team is fantastic and to play football for a striker is not just about scoring goals," said the Red Devils boss.

"I think Romelu is one of the players who should be untouchable in terms of respect from everyone."

And at one particular point during United's victory over Benfica, Lukaku proved his boss right.

After being put through on goal, Anthony Martial, who missed a penalty earlier in the game, miscontrolled the ball sending it out for a goal kick.

Frustrated, the Frenchman vented his anger by shouting in disgust.

But instead of turning to see Lukaku also frustrated because he didn't receive a cross, Martial saw his team-mate applauding him.

In what was a touch of class, the Belgian striker was offering the 21-year-old encouragement, telling him to keep going.
