The 17-year-old has turned heads this season at youth level, and played twice in the senior team - both late substitute appearances against Chelsea in the Carabao Cup and Cologne in the Europa League.

The emergence of Nelson is seen by many as a key reason why Gunners fans were happy to see Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain leave for Liverpool this summer, and the teenager is part of a strong Gunners side that will take on Doncaster.

Alexis Sanchez, Olivier Giroud, Theo Walcott and Jack Wilshere are among those also handed starts by Arsene Wenger .
