Rangers have been contacted by Alan Pardew over the vacant managerial job, according to reports.

Former Newcastle and West Ham boss Pardew is on the lookout for a new job after leaving Crystal Palace and the Premier League last December.

Rangers are on the lookout for a new manager after sacking Pedro Caixinha.

The Daily Mail report the 56-year-old is interested in the vacancy and Pardew has vast experience in the Premier League. He led the Magpies to a fifth-place finish in 2012.

Derek McInnes remains the bookies' favourite to become the next Rangers manager, but Record Sport understands the Glasgow giants will not be rushed into finding their next boss.

Former boss Alex McLeish is the second favourite. Michel Preud'homme is also one of the betting favourites and his agent exclusively told the Mail that his client has held talks with the Light Blues over the vacancy.

Graeme Murty remains in temporary charge and led Rangers to 3-1 win against Hearts on Saturday.
