Manchester City proved why they're title favourites with an excellent win at Chelsea as the Premier League shuts down for a fortnight for the international break.

Though Manchester United are still there after another comfortable victory to take advantage of their gentle start: Liverpool away after the international break will likely provide more answers to their title credentials.

Crystal Palace appear doomed, it's a seventh straight defeat to start the season and next up are the champions.

Harry Kane continues to shine for Spurs with his purple patch putting him back in contention to retain his golden boot.

Level with Alvaro Morata and Sergio Aguero on six goals, they all trail Romelu Lukaku by one in what promises to be an engrossing race to be the league's top scorer.

Here are the weekend's winners and losers:

Winners

Harry Kane

The man of the moment and in red-hot form that is drawing comparisons to the continent's very best: Edinson Cavani, Robert Lewandowski and Luis Suarez.

The England striker has 11 goals in his last six outings for Spurs and is proving himself as the most complete No.9 in European football.

Just five points behind the two Manchester clubs in third, Kane will lead his country this week in hope of finalising their place at Russia 2018 before turning attention to Real Madrid in the Champions League.

Kevin De Bruyne

Revenge? That's too far, but Saturday's Man of the Match display for Kevin De Bruyne would have been sweet against former club Chelsea.

The Belgian is far too good a player to be carried away by three points in isolation over the champions. Only when he captures that Premier League title with City will he have truly begun to realise the incredible potential Chelsea denied him from fulfilling before his move to Wolfsburg.

The front runner for the Player of the Year now and beginning to run games, as well as regularly sprinkling his magic with his wonderful left boot.

Sean Dyche

What a sensational job Dyche has done so far this season with Burnley.

How Crystal Palace must regret overlooking him in favour of Frank De Boer now.

The Clarets continue their superb away record with victory at Everton to go with a win at Chelsea and draws at Tottenham and Liverpool. Now the front runner for manager of the year with Burnley sitting pretty in sixth.

Richarlison

What a brilliant start to life in the Premier League for the Brazilian, who grabbed another last-minute goal with a superbly controlled header back across goal from a set-peice to continue the fine start under Marco Silva.

The Portuguese has implemented tremendous work ethic with his side, who ran 12 more miles than they did in Walter Mazzarri's final match in charge.

The former Fluminense starlet now has three in seven, putting himself in the conversation for signing of the season. Already up to 12 points, Watford now look certain to avoid a relegation battle this season.

Losers

Michy Batshuayi

Back down to earth with a bang after striking the winner in Madrid midweek to secure a superb victory at Atletico.

Antonio Conte sent the Belgian a clear message by replacing the injured Alvaro Morata with Willian, despite only Eden Hazard in the advanced areas of the pitch.

The former Marseille striker has delivered in limited game time, though his impact was minimal as a 73rd minute substitute vs City.

Roy Hodgson

A horror start for Hodgson at Palace continues to get worse, three successive defeats in the league sees the Eagles cut adrift at the bottom of the table without a point.

The manner of their last two defeats will be a concern, with City and United putting nine collectively past them. Next up? Chelsea.

Defeat there would match De Boer's shocking start and set the ball rolling for a remarkable second sacking already at Selhurst Park.

Saido Berahino

Just the 584 days without a goal for Behahino now, who fluffed his lines from the spot at the weekend.

The former West Brom striker, who joined the Potters for £12m in January, is not beating himself up too much though.

“Of course I would take another one,” Berahino said afterwards.

Ronald Koeman

It looks bleak for Koeman now as Everton were booed off in their 1-0 defeat to Burnley.

Now the strong favourite to be the next manager sacked, the Toffees sit just two points outside the relegation zone and devoid of ideas and inspiration in possession.

Farhad Moshiri has moved to back the Dutch manager, insisting he has his "total support," though Brighton away after the international break seems imperative to his prospects of staying in the job.

Lyon in the Europa League will be followed by Arsenal and Chelsea, placing greater emphasis on collecting the points at the AMEX.
