Olivier Giroud is in Arsenal’s 25 man squad for their pre-season tour of Australia and China.

That means nothing is imminent for Giroud who is a transfer target for Everton as well Marseille and West Ham.

Gunners boss Arsene Wenger, who has named Mesut Ozil and new signing Alexandre Lacazette in his travelling party, will see Giroud as potentially staying.

Giroud will want to play regular games in World Cup year and knows the £52m arrival of Lacazette could limit his chances and may tempt him to go.

But he has stayed and fought for his place before.

Arsenal are likely to be realistic but would want in excess of £30m and Wenger has always remained a fan and would want to keep him in an ideal world.

Arsenal’s other new signing Sead Kolasinac is on the flight as is rookie left back Cohen Bramall but it is confirmed there is no place for Kieran Gibbs, Carl Jenkinson and Mathieu Debuchy which signals their likely departures.

Wojciech Szczesny is still an Arsenal player but is believed to be in negotiations with Juventus.

Krystian Bielik, Ainsley Maitland-Niles, Donyell Malen, Reiss Nelson, Eddie Nketiah and Joe Willock are the youngsters on board the flight from London out to Sydney.

They arrive on Tuesday morning Sydney time for a press conference, play two local teams then go to China where they play Bayern Munich and Chelsea.

As expected, Jack Wilshere and Gabriel have stayed behind as they are currently recovering from injury.

Alexis Sanchez has been extra time off after the Confederations Cup along with German defender Shkodran Mustafi.

They are likely to be back in training after the Emirates Cup at the end of the month.

Rob Holding, Calum Chambers and Hector Bellerin have also been given an extra break after the Euro Under-21 Championships.

Lucas Perez is also staying behind as negotiations continue with Deportivo La Coruna.
