England star Marcus Rashford can become a 'world beater' according to former Manchester United striker Andy Cole.

Rashford was the match winner once again after scoring the crucial second goal to help England stage an impressive comeback to record a 2-1 win over Slovakia at Wembley on Monday night.

The teenage superstar is rapidly becoming one of the star players for Gareth Southgate's side and remains a crucial member of Jose Mourinho's squad as they look to challenge for the Premier League title once again.

Cole knows exactly what is needed to become a major striker for Manchester United and feels Rashford has everything in his game to become a world class superstar.

Cole, speaking at Soccerex Global Convention in Manchester, said: "He's a young man, he's hungry, he's got loads of desire, he's got passion.

"What I like about him when does play, is that he play's like it's his last game. And when you're at that age, that's exactly what you do - because you enjoy it that much."

"If he continues to improve, with the players he has around him, he could be a world beater. He's definitely got the quality."

"His attitude is bang on. It's spot on. Like I touched on before, he works very hard. He always wants to improve. I was listening to him say last season how much he watches Zlatan, Wayne and how much he's learned off those guys in his position, and he's taken it all on board, taken it in his stride and tried to add little things to his game"

Cole is praying the media spotlight does not affect Rashford in the build-up to a major tournament and hopes he will be allowed to show his best form in Russia next summer at the World Cup.

Cole added: "That's England. That's England in general. Let's take Marcus out of the equation. Any time England have a young, good aspiring player, we talk about how he's going to be as good as Messi, Ronaldo, Pele or whoever.

"Let them just enjoy it, improve, get there, step by step because if they go to a major tournament and they don't produce the goods, the media is on their back saying 'he didn't produce this or that'.

"Let them enjoy themselves. Let them express themselves. Let them mature, and learn their roles even better."
