Jesse Lingard has been ridiculed on social media for failing to outrun Anthony Taylor during Manchester United's 1-0 defeat to Chelsea.
The Red Devils winger, who only came on in the 78th minute, was spotted tracking back as the Blues mounted a counter-attack late into the second half.
William stormed into the Chelsea half, running past a near-motionless Lingard before finding Alvaro Morata in the area.
Referee Taylor was seen keeping up with the Brazilian as he left the Manchester United winger for dust in the middle of the pitch.
The 39-year-old match official, who had been running for the whole 90 minutes, even made it into the box before the Englishman.
Fortunately for Manchester United, Morata fluffed his lines and ended up stumbling on the ball as the chance came to nothing.
But unfortunately for Lingard, it seems his lack of effort in tracking back was not missed by a number of Red Devils supporters.
Many took to social media to criticise his cameo appearance, while others couldn't help but laugh at what they had witnessed.
