David De Gea believes players are better looked after in the Premier League than in La Liga.
The Manchester United goalkeeper has been linked with moves back to his homeland Spain with Real Madrid continually monitoring his services.
He was set to join Real in the summer of 2015, only for a paperwork issue to block the transfer going through on deadline day.
De Gea has now hinted that he might prefer to remain in England for the long haul, after suggesting players are treated better in the Premier League.
The Spaniard said: "I think that the players who leave Spain are not paid as much attention as those who stay in Spain and people forget about us a little.
"The English culture cares for and loves its players a lot."
De Gea's Spain team-mate Kepa Arrizabalaga has been tipped as a potential alternative for Real if they fail to land De Gea in the transfer windows going forward.
The young Athletic Bilbao goalkeeper has been attracting high praise from his international team-mates.
De Gea said: "[Kepa] is still very young, he has a long career ahead of him.
"His head is very settled but he must keep growing. When training with him, you realise his level and that he is a great goalkeeper.
"I'm young too, we are both here and, with Pepe [Reina], we always arrive at the national team with the greatest enthusiasm to help the side."
