Sergio Aguero has revealed his regrets over the accident which left him with a broken rib.

Striker Aguero suffered the injury during a day-off trip to Amsterdam, when the taxi in which he was travelling crashed — just 48 hours before his Manchester City side's 1-0 win at title rivals Chelsea.

The Argentinean star was said to be facing up to six weeks out, but could now be included on the bench for Saturday's visit of Stoke — just a fortnight on from the accident — after making a swift recovery .

Aguero has now opened up about the incident, and admitted he has been left with mixed emotions over his decision to travel to the Dutch city to attend a concert.

"When a player has a free day at Manchester City, most of the players go to London, others to Italy, some to Spain," said the 29-year-old.

"I was lucky that I know the agent of [Colombian singer] Maluma. He invited me and I went. I had almost two days off and going to the airport was when I had that accident.

"Then one thinks, 'Why did I go?' But it's difficult to imagine that something like that could happen. I still don't know if I'm going to play on Saturday. I have trained normally, but without the group.

"I will get into the group to see how I feel, but at training it's not the same thing as a game. I want to see if I have pain."
