Jose Mourinho claims he has "no idea" what is happening with Manchester United 's move for Inter Milan winger Ivan Perisic .

United are close to agreeing a £48million fee for the Croatia international after prolonged talks with the Serie A side.

So far this summer Benfica defender Victor Lindelof and Everton striker Romelu Lukaku have arrived at Old Trafford.

Mourinho still wants two more signings and a move for Inter's Perisic is edging towards completion, with the Red Devils keen to get the deal over the line as soon as possible.

Asked for an update on the transfer after the 2-1 friendly win at Real Salt Lake, Mourinho said as he left the press conference: "No idea. No idea my friend. No idea."

According to reports, the Nerazzurri are looking at Lazio star Keita Balde as a possible replacement for Perisic, should he move to Man United.

Balde has just one year to run on his contract with the Biancocelesti and had been thought to want Juventus above other interested clubs.

Chelsea and Liverpool also registered an interest in the €20m-rated forward, but Inter appear to be the front runners, which could allow the Serie A giants to release Perisic.

Inter Milan manager Luciano Spalletti recently appeared to drop a hint following reports that United had agreed a fee with Inter.

Speaking to Sportitalia, Spalletti said: "Perisic? You [journalists] know everything, it's all out in the open."
