Liverpool legend Sami Hyypia has stressed that Liverpool's problem isn't solely in defence.

Finn Hyypia - who won the Champions League with the Reds in 2005 - was speaking on BT Sport's coverage of Liverpool's clash with Maribor on Wednesday night, and claimed that the Reds' problems this season should be laid at the feet of the whole team, nit just those at the back.

The Reds have won just four of their 10 Premier League matches, conceding 16 goals, and sit 12 points behind league leaders Manchester City.

And Hyypia is aware that things aren't going as planned.

"Of course it's not going great because, everyone wants to win all the games and when that doesn't happen then there's something wrong," said the former centre-back, who played 464 times for the Reds.

"And I can see problems at both ends of the pitch. They're not effective enough up front and doing mistakes and conceding goals at the back.

"They are creating a lot of chances, but they're not scoring enough and are then conceding easy goals."
