Former Chelsea captain John Terry went with a Manchester United-heavy selection when Sky Sports asked him to choose his best-ever Premier League XI.

Admittedly, the ex-England skipper was barred from picking players he used to line up alongside at Stamford Bridge, thereby ruling out the likes of Frank Lampard, Didier Drogba, Ashley Cole and Petr Cech, but his selection of a predominantly United-based side does speak volumes.

Terry was working as a pundit on Sky's Monday Night Football coverage of Everton's 3-1 win over Swansea, and he chose fellow pundit Jamie Carragher in his side at centre-back alongside Rio Ferdinand.

Carragher was joined by fellow Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard in the team, with Arsenal's all-time record scorer Thierry Henry upfront.

But the rest of the team was full of players who achieved the greatest successes of their careers at United.

David De Gea, Gary Neville, Ferdinand, Patrice Evra, Cristiano Ronaldo, Paul Scholes, Ryan Giggs and Wayne Rooney all make Terry's XI.

But the current Aston Villa defender reserved special praise for Arsenal legend Henry .

"Henry was my most feared striker [I played against]. He was terrifying. He was the best by far.

"He had everything, the movement. He was incredible. He would be the one before games, I'd say, 'it's going to be tough tomorrow.' Nobody else did that," he added.
