Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has agreed a £40m move to Liverpool from Arsenal.

But the big question is how will be fit in at Anfield, with Jurgen Klopp's side unbeaten so far this season, as originally published by the Liverpool Echo.

The former Southampton academy starlet made his name as a pacy 'in your face' winger but has be utilised in a number of positions by Arsene Wenger since joining the Gunners in 2011.

So far this season he has primarily been used as a left wing-back, which has forced him to hone his defensive skills.

But Oxlade-Chamberlain has previously noted in interviews that he would like to become a central midfielder, following in Steven Gerrard's footsteps, having filled in the role when Wenger was short.

Looking at Klopp's Reds, it looks difficult for the 24-year-old to push past Mo Salah, Sadio Mane or even former Saints teammate Adam Lallana to win a wing role.

So perhaps his dream of emulating Kop legend Gerrard is the best way - with competition from Jordan Henderson, Emre Can, Marko Grujic and Gini Wijnaldum.

And then there is potential battle with wantaway Philippe Coutinho, who plays a vaguely similar style.

Here is how Oxlade-Chamberlain stacks up with Liverpool's current crop of midfielders based on last season's Premier League stats...
