Joey Barton has hit out at Crystal Palace's imminent appointment of Roy Hodgson.
The Eagles have axed Frank de Boer after just four games following a disastrous start to the season.
Palace failed to find the net in any of their Premier League matches with the 1-0 defeat to Burnley the final straw.
Ex-England boss Hodgson is set to take over after being offered the job on a two-year deal.
But Barton is baffled by the decision and doesn't see how Hodgson could motivate the current squad.
"He’s just got no charisma, no personality at all," Barton told talkSPORT.
“Did you see him at the back end of that England campaign?
"He just looked like he needed to be taken out into the back garden and have someone pull the trigger on him.
“A lot of people say he’s a great fella, but I just don’t think [he’s the right fit].
“I didn’t see the Frank de Boer appointment, I thought it was a bit left field and I think if you’re them you want somebody who lifts the place up.”
Palace take on Southampton at Selhurst Park this weekend.
