Manchester City striker Gabriel Jesus has made the final three for the prestigious Golden Boy award.

An initial 24-man shortlist was announced by Tuttosport last month , including Manchester United's Marcus Rashford.

But the England international has not made the cut with Jesus joined by Kylian Mbappe and Ousmane Dembele, reports Goal.

The Brazilian has enjoyed an excellent start to the season, continuing where he left off last term.

Jesus, who finally arrived at the Etihad in January, has scored eight times in all competitions this season.

He was again on target against Napoli in midweek following his two-goal haul in the thrashing over Stoke.

Jesus is expected to start against Burnley on Saturday with Sergio Aguero recovering from injury.

Despite his excellent form, the 20-year-old is the outsider for the award.

French sensation Kylian Mbappe is the huge favourite after an incredible calendar year.

His goals fired Monaco to the Ligue 1 title last season and he has continued in a similar vein on loan at PSG.

Mbappe's international teammate Ousmane Dembele is the final contender.

The winger sealed a £135m move to Barcelona in the summer after an excellent campaign with Dortmund, although he is currently sidelined with injury.
