Louis van Gaal has revealed he would like another job in the Premier League so he could “get one over on Manchester United ”.

The Dutchman has clearly not forgiven United for sacking him in 2016 and is known to be furious with chief executive Ed Woodward for approaching Jose Mourinho behind his back.

Van Gaal managed United for two seasons, but fans were unhappy with the team’s style of play and the former Holland boss was fired after winning the FA Cup with Mourinho taking over.

But speaking in Rotterdam on Sunday night, he said: “I will probably not manage a club anymore.

“I would make one exception — if a big English club comes for me, than I would do it. Because then I can get the chance to get one over on Manchester United.’’

Referring to Mourinho being approached about the United job while he was still in charge, Van Gaal added: “Woodward should have come to me and we could have worked on that.

“I have nothing against Jose.’’
