Eden Hazard says he is desperate to win the Champions League after “hating” having to watch it on TV last season.

Chelsea’s attacking ace Hazard made his first Premier League appearance of the season in the 2-1 win at Leicester.

The Belgium star is now ready to play at home against FK Qarabag in the Champions League on Tuesday.

Antonio Conte’s Premier League champions are back in the competition after missing it last season when they failed to qualify.

Hazard, a semi-finalist in 2014 with Blues, admitted: “This year is really important. I just reached the semi-final with Chelsea, when we lost to Atletico Madrid, so it’s in my head to win this trophy.

“I have won the Premier League, I have won the title in France, I have won cups, but big players always want to win the Champions League.

“I think now it is time to win this. We have a good squad, we have a good manager, so we are ready for it.

“I try to give everything on the pitch. If I win I’m happy, if I don’t win, no regrets.”

Former Lille ace Hazard found it difficult watching the competition last season on TV after Chelsea failed to qualify.

Hazard added: “As a player, you want to be in the Champions League, but last year we just had to watch it on the television. That isn’t a good feeling.

“You want to play these kind of games because every time you play in the Champions League it’s a big game and everybody is watching you, so yeah we are happy to be back.

“I hate having to watch it, I don’t like watching any games.

“The Champions League can bring you a lot of things and you just want to be part of it. I don’t like to watch this kind of game on the TV, I just want to be on the pitch.”

Hazard returned to action in the international break with two appearances for Belgium, who qualified for the World Cup.

He is fit after undergoing surgery on an ankle injury sustained during international duty in June.

Now he is pleased to be back in Chelsea colours after replacing Cesc Fabregas in the 78th minute at Leicester.

He said: “I feel ready, ready to be part of the team.

“I had the chance to play with my national team and did a good job there and for the last month I’ve just been working hard to be fit. On Tuesday we have the Champions League and I’m just happy to be back on the pitch.”
