Raheem Sterling is 'the best player in the Premier League' according to Manchester City fans after delivering yet another late show for the Premier League leaders.

He's even 'better than Lionel Messi', apparently, after his third death winner on the bounce for the Blues.

After the 22-year-old curled in the ridiculous 97th-minute winner to secure City the three points against Southampton on Wednesday night, as the Manchester Evening News reports.

On a night where City weren't at their best Sterling made himself a hero to maintain the Blues eight point lead in the league.

It wasn't a vintage Blues performance but it will forever be remembered for the unbelievable ending.

And football fans unanimously identified who was to thank for saving City's club record 19 match winning run.

Blues faithful have labelled Sterling a 'man on fire' and on par with Liverpool's own form star Mo Salah - even better for some.

And here's one that we're sure he'll especially enjoy - the 'English Ronaldinho.'

Here's how Twitter reacted to Sterling's latest heroics.
