Ashley Young and Wayne Rooney today both arrived at Manchester United's Carrington training base today, with their futures remaining up in the air, despite Jose Mourinho's statements that neither will leave.

Young, 31, has been interesting a number of Premier League clubs, including West Brom.

The Baggies had been keen on a loan deal for the ex-Aston Villa star, but United have told Young - who still owns property in the West Midlands - that he will NOT be allowed to leave on a temporary deal.

United have slapped a fee in excess of £10million on Young's head, despite him being far from a regular this term, but with Jose Mourinho keen to keep him at the club.

"The only player that I am aware of a possibility to leave - and I am waiting just for 31 January to know what really is going on - is Ashley Young," said Mourinho on Friday.

"I'm not happy at all if he leaves but he is the only player that I was informed there would be a possibility of him leaving."

One place Young could head in the next month however is China. There has been interest from the Far East, with Young offered a whopping net £16million over three years.

There is no pressure on Chinese clubs to cut any deals today.

The transfer window doesn't close until the end of February and United are understood to be willing to sanction a move for club captain Rooney next month.

The United and England skipper has a mega-money offer on the table from China which would see him make more money in three seasons in the Far East than he has in his entire career in the Premier League.

A number of Chinese clubs have made it clear they are prepared to offer Rooney a contract worth a bank-busting £140million and Mourinho says Rooney will stay put until the end of the season.

The season in China doesn't begin until March however, so a move in May could prove mutually beneficial, with a belief at United that a parting of the ways could be best, given Rooney's £300,000-a-week contract.

United host Hull in the Premier League on Wednesday, looking to continue their excellent recent league form - and avenge the League Cup defeat that ended their unbeaten streak last Thursday.

Having made a number of changes at the weekend, Mourinho is again set to shuffle his pack. Anthony Martial, influential in the thumping of Wigan, will hope to keep his place on the left wing, while Dutchman Daley Blind will expect to come back in at left-back.
