Arsenal fans have hit out at former Tottenham striker Garth Crooks' criticism of Danny Welbeck after their 3-0 win over Bournemouth this weekend.

The Gunners, who have started the season poorly, looked much better against the Cherries as they picked them off to climb five Premier League places.

Danny Welbeck, who has in the past been criticised by Arsenal fans, found his shooting boots to net in just six minutes at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday.

France international Alexandre Lacazette then doubled the home side's lead before Welbeck scored a second five minutes after the break.

Gunners fans were encouraged to see their club finding the back of the net with ease, especially considering last season's biggest threat Alexis Sanchez spent the majority of the game watching from the bench.

And seemingly stunned that Crooks, while announcing his Team of the Week after the fixture, questioned whether the Gunners have genuine goal scorers in their team.

"The number of times I have seen Welbeck score goals that aren't clean connections makes me wonder, is he what you would call 'a genuine finisher' in the same way you would categorise other Arsenal forwards like Ian Wright, Dennis Bergkamp or Thierry Henry? Not in my opinion," Crooks told the BBC.

"Arsenal might have brushed aside Bournemouth but until the Gunners have genuine finishers in the team they can forget about Premier League titles."

Safe to say the Arsenal fans disagreed with him...
