Manchester City are looking to make it 18 consecutive wins when they take on Rafael Benitez's Newcastle on Wednesday night.

The Citizens put off leaving early to complete the three hour coach ride to Tyne and Wear, presumably after they took one look at the snowy conditions earlier in the day.

They instead opted to fire up the private jet and complete a 25-minute trip to Newcastle instead. Well, at least they won't be late.

Here's what we noticed as the players said a temporary goodbye to Manchester this afternoon for their trip to the north-east.

1. Gabriel Jesus always looks so worried

We don't know what it is, but the baby-faced forward always looks very concerned about something, even when he's on the pitch.

His form has been pretty good, and he's playing in one of the best teams in the world right now - if not, the best.

Maybe he doesn't like flying? (

Well, they are the current favourites to win the Champions League after all.

But despite all this, Jesus took one look at the snapper on Wednesday, and well, just looked all worried again.

2. Not before the boss you don't

Pep Guardiola leads by example.

He's a very hands-on coach who is regular seen 'manhandling' his players to show them where he wants them to run, and what he wants them to do.

It's the man of the moment (

So it should come as absolutely no surprise that he's the first one to board the plane, before the group follows suit.

We'd guess he probably got to pick the best chair too.

3. Ederson loves a photo opportunity

He's been hailed 'the difference' for Manchester City this season.

Well, if not the difference, then at least one of the differences. Last year Claudio Bravo let the Citizens down one too many times, and it cost them over the course of the campaign.

This year Ederson has proven to be a safe pair of hands.

Not only that, but his distribution might just be the best of any keeper's in the league, so why wouldn't he pose for the photographer?

4. You're going to Newcastle, Kyle Walker...

The former Tottenham right-back has settled in at Manchester City without any problems at all, and has certainly been a welcomed lift at the Etihad.

On Wednesday the England international was photographed on the phone while making his way onto the private jet. Well, he wanted to make the most of having reception for the last time in 25 minutes...

"Yeah, 25-hour flight apparently... nightmare" (

He was also spotted carrying on a neck pillow, which is pretty standard procedure for anyone flying to America, for instance.

Twenty minutes up the road to Newcastle however... that's something else.

5. Yaya Toure means business

He didn't feature in Manchester City's demolition job of Bournemouth last time out, but captained the side against Leicester City recently.

The Citizens won that Carabao Cup game on penalties to set up a semi-final tie with Bristol City, which will be played over two legs in January.

This year Toure has struggled for regular game time at the Etihad. Well, there is a lot of quality at the club.

But he was all business on Wednesday as he marched on board the private jet with his designer bag swinging ahead of him. Watch this space, Newcastle.
