Three very sharp saves and some commanding work from crosses. Did still one but made up for it with save from Yoshida.

Matt Lowton 7

Part of a superb defensive unit at the moment. Had a tough time when Nathan Redmond moved left, but solid enough.

James Tarkowski 9 (Man of the Match)

Hard to separate the two central defenders, both of whom were immense. But Tarkowski just edges the man of the match award. Made some superb blocks and clearances and one tackle to stop Redmond in his tracks in the second half was a delight.

Ben Mee 9

Cleared his lines with his head all afternoon and threw his body at a Charlie Austin shot in injury time to preserve the lead.

Stephen Ward 8

Looked to be going off early in the second half but showed fortitude to carry on and put in another strong display.

Johann Berg Gudmundsson 7

Could have played Hendrick in instead of taking early shot on but made amends with yet another assist, crossing for Vokes’ goal.

Jack Cork 8

A triumphant return to one of his former clubs. Looked very comfortable on the ball and tried to get Burnley on the front foot.

Steven Defour 7

Fit enough to retain his place and came through the 90 minutes. Outshone by Cork but battled away dilligently.

Robbie Brady 7

Found Vokes with one clever run and pass and showed flashes of that creativity that we’re desperate to see.

Jeff Hendrick 6

Drifted out of the game after a bright opening half hour and made way when Dyche looked to change the game from the bench.

Chris Wood 6

Returned from injury but never really got into the game. Offered an out ball but it was rarely sticking while he was on the pitch.
