Demba Ba nearly shook Arsenal to the core inside three seconds of there Champions League clash with Besiktas when he hit the crossbar direct from the kick-off.

In one of the most audacious attempts on goal you will ever see, the former Chelsea and Newcastle striker had Wojciech  Szczesny scrambling.

Teenage Arsenal defender Calum Chambers made his Champions League debut in the play-off first leg against Besiktas at Istanbul's Ataturk Olympic Stadium.

The 19-year-old, signed from Southampton, lined up alongside Laurent Koscielny, who was passed fit on an Achilles problem, while Nacho Monreal came in for the injured Kieran Gibbs at left-back and France forward Olivier Giroud led the attack in front of £30million Chile international Alexis Sanchez.

Besiktas, managed by Croatian Slaven Bilic, had former Arsenal youngster Oguzhan Ozyakup in the side.
