Liverpool keeping tabs on Stevenage defender Ben Wilmot with Tottenham and Southampton also interested
Latest transfer news, gossip and rumours from the January window
Liverpool are keeping close tabs on Stevenage defender Ben Wilmot, who is yet to agree a move to Tottenham Hotspur despite reports.
The 18-year-old has risen through the ranks at his hometown club and has even broken into the first-team this season, featuring in League Two and the FA Cup.
He has attracted interest from a number of Premier League sides, including Southampton and Spurs.
And earlier this week news broke that Tottenham had agreed a deal with Stevenage for the player, who is reportedly valued at £850k.
However it is understood that such reports are wide of the mark and that Wilmot is yet to agree a move away from Stevenage, despite mounting interest.
That could open the door for Liverpool, who may decide to take advantage of Tottenham’s lack of activity.
Should Liverpool sign Wilmot he is likely to be feature for the club’s developmental side rather than being handed a place in Jurgen Klopp’s first-team.
