Roy Hodgson’s Crystal Palace extended their longest unbeaten run in Premier League history to eight games with a 1-1 draw against Swansea last time out. The return to fitness of Wilfried Zaha has given Palace pace and trickery out wide guiding Palace to wins against Leicester and Watford in recent weeks.

Arsenal come into the game off the back of a hectic 3-3 draw at home to Liverpool, with the Gunner’s recovering from a two goal deficit. Arsene Wenger praised the creativity of his players following the draw, with his side scoring three goals in five second-half minutes.

Wenger will want to avoid a performance similar to that of his side’s first half display against a rampant Liverpool, where his team consistently gave the ball away in midfield.

Roy Hodgson remains without defensive stalwart Mamadou Sakho who continues to recover from a calf strain. Joel Ward is also sidelined with a groin problem, so Martin Kelly is likely to continue at right-back for the Eagles. Christian Benteke has completed his suspension for picking up his fifth yellow card of the season, while Jason Puncheon is available for selection despite his recent charge for possession of an offensive weapon.

Arsene Wenger must select a side without Spanish defender Nacho Monreal who is kept out with an ankle injury while Aaron Ramsey continues his rehabilitation from a hamstring strain.

Crystal Palace vs Arsenal is at 20:00 on Thursday.

The game will be shown on Sky Sports Premier League, with coverage starting at 19:30.

Christian Benteke. The Belgian striker, following his embarrassing penalty miss against Bournemouth in a 2-2 draw earlier in the month, will aim to continue his redemption against Arsenal. The target man has struggled for goals this season, though with a goal in his last game against Leicester, will be eager to add another goal against an Arsenal side that has conceded the most goals out of sides in the top seven.

Palace won their last home fixture against Arsenal 3-0, though had failed to beat the Gunners in their previous 11 attempts at Selhurst Park.

Mesut Ozil. The elegant playmaker has scored two in his last two games, one a glorious volley against Newcastle. The German has increasingly shown glimpses of his elusive qualities in recent weeks and will hope to continue his good form amidst speculation of a January transfer as he enters the final six months of his Arsenal contract.
