Bournemouth host Arsenal in Sunday’s early kick-off – but the build-up to the match has been dominated by Alexis Sanchez.

The forward has not travelled with his team-mates to the south coast and is likely to complete a move to Manchester United in the coming hours, with City set to miss out on their man at the final hurdle.

Arsenal will still be expected to beat Bournemouth even without him in their starting XI and a win for the Gunners will take them a point behind north London rivals Tottenham. Bournemouth are meanwhile hoping to climb as high as 13th with a win.

Wenger explains Sanchez's omission

Alexis Sanchez has been left out of the Arsenal squad for today's match and Arsene Wenger has explained why.

"His situation is not completely decided one way or the other so I left him at home," Wenger told Sky Sports.

"Don't read too much into it because even I don't know which way it will go."

The Chile international has been linked with a January switch to either Manchester United or Manchester City.

Jamie Redknapp reckons Bournemouth striker Callum Wilson will cause Arsenal big problems today.

"They've gone attacking. Callum Wilson is the one that could be the difference," Redknapp told Sky Sports a few moments ago.

"Arsenal defended really well against Chelsea but he's a really good player that always wants to get on the end of things.

"He's dangerous, he's quick and he's the man that you feel the goals will come by today."
