Tottenham vs Chelsea: TV channel, stream, kick-off time, odds & match preview

Tottenham take on Chelsea at Wembley Stadium on Sunday in what will be the first ever Premier League match played at England's national stadium.

Spurs are playing their home games at the famous 'Home of Football' for the duration of the 2017-18 season as they wait for a new stadium to be built and they fittingly kick things off against London rivals Chelsea - a team they have frequently butted heads with in recent years.

Mauricio Pochettinho's men finished runners-up to the Blues last season as Antonio Conte's side swept to glory, but the two teams have begun the new campaign with contrasting fortunes. While the reigning champions began their title defence with a defeat away to Burnley, Tottenham made light work of Newcastle at St James' Park.

Given its timing, the game at Wembley represents an excellent opportunity for both teams to land an early blow in the battle for the league.

GAME PREVIEW

Antonio Conte Mauricio Pochettino Chelsea TottenhamGetty Images

Tottenham were left trailing in Chelsea's wake last season as the Blues won the Premier League by seven points and knocked Spurs out of the FA Cup in the semi-final. Pochettino's men will be keen to avoid a repeat of that this season and they can issue a statement of intent by overcoming Conte's side on Sunday.

Despite losing Kyle Walker to Manchester City and failing to add reinforcements - the club are in talks to sign Davinson Sanchez from Ajax but a deal has yet to be confirmed - Spurs put in an impressive performance against Newcastle last week and they will be eager to take advantage of the disarray enveloping Chelsea following their embarrassing opening-day defeat to relegation candidates Burnley.

The champions are involved in a protracted dispute with Diego Costa, who is desperately attempting to expedite his departure from the club, and they have lost Nemanja Matic to Manchester United, while key man Eden Hazard is ruled out with an injury. As well as that, Conte will be unable to call upon Fabregas or Cahill, who both saw red in last week's loss.

This early-season clash between two of the division's top teams could well have a decisive impact on where the title ends up at the conclusion of the season and the magnitude of the occasion - not least because of the venue - will not be lost on either side.
