Crystal Palace v Watford: Goals galore as hosts look to extend unbeaten run

Crystal Palace will be aiming to put their disappointing home draw with Bournemouth behind them when Watford visit Selhurst Park in Tuesday’s Premier League game.

Roy Hodgson’s men were forced to settle for a single point after Christian Benteke’s late penalty miss saw the game finish all square at the weekend, although they are 6/5 (2.20) favourites with bet365 to bounce back with a victory here and make it six league games without a loss.

Meanwhile, the Hornets are without a win in three games after losing 1-0 at Burnley on Saturday, but are on offer at 23/10 (3.30) to collect maximum points in this one.

Five of the hosts’ last seven fixtures have resulted in draws, and there are odds of 9/4 (3.25) available on them being held to another stalemate on this occasion.

Although Benteke was the villain of the piece after grabbing the ball off nominated penalty taker Luka Milivojevic before firing his spot kick tamely at Asmir Begovic, his team-mates at the other end of the pitch should not be beyond criticism either.

Bournemouth became the third visiting team in four games to score twice at Selhurst Park, while the Eagles are yet to keep a single clean sheet in eight league fixtures in front of their own fans this season.

Having scored two or more in seven of their eight away games in the league this campaign, Marco Silva’s team should be relishing the opportunity to come up against such a generous home defence.

However, the guests will not be so confident of keeping things tight at the other end themselves considering they possess the fourth worst defensive record in the division – a record they share with Palace.

All in all, odds of 9/10 (1.90) seem generous on two fragile backlines ensuring over 2.5 goals are scored for the sixth consecutive fixture at this ground, as well as a sixth in seven on the road for Watford.
