Burnley v Stoke City: Dyche to lead hosts to fourth win in five at Turf Moor

Burnley can continue their fine run of form when they welcome struggling Stoke City to Turf Moor in the Premier League on Tuesday night.

The Clarets have consistently performed well this season and Sean Dyche’s side claimed a fifth win in seven matches with a hard-fought 1-0 victory against Watford at the weekend, meaning Burnley have been beaten in just one of their last seven matches on home turf in this competition; indeed, they can be backed at 13/10 (2.30) with Paddy Power to pick up all three points against Mark Hughes’ men.

The Potters, meanwhile, have won just one of their nine matches on their travels in all competitions so far this season and suffered a humiliating 5-1 defeat at the hands of Tottenham Hotspur at Wembley on Saturday afternoon so could be forgiven for fearing the worst ahead of their clash with the in-form Clarets.

Stoke will be desperate to kickstart their campaign and victory at Turf Moor would certainly provide the Potters with a much-needed fillip; the visitors can be backed at 5/2 (3.50) with Paddy Power to claim a vital victory against Dyche’s side, while the same firm offer 21/10 (3.10) that these two teams are forced to settle for a share of the spoils.

Burnley have kept a clean sheet in each of their four league victories on their own patch so far this season and the Clarets can be backed at 7/5 (2.40) with Paddy Power to shut out Stoke, while the same firm go 5/2 (3.50) that the hosts claim a fifth successive victory to nil at Turf Moor.

There have been fewer than three goals scored in each of the eight Premier League matches that Burnley have hosted so far this season and Paddy Power offer 8/13 (1.62) that the trend continues in this clash; the odds compilers offer 8/11 (1.73) that either side fails to find the net – a selection that would have seen punters profit from all but one of those fixtures.

The visitors will be determined to keep things tight but Hughes’ side are leaking goals at an alarming rate, having conceded at least twice in all but one of their last six matches, and Burnley can be backed at a tempting 6/4 (2.50) with Paddy Power to score more than once at Turf Moor.

There is, though, plenty of value to be found in backing Burnley to continue their fine form with another home win and Paddy Power’s 13/10 (2.30) quote for the hosts to come out on top of Tuesday’s tussle may provide punters with the clearest path to profit.
