Arsenal make late Meyer move


Arsenal and Barcelona are both interested in signing Schalke midfielder Max Meyer, reports Sport Bild.

Meyer’s contract expires at the end of the season and Schalke could be prepared to cash in on the 22-year-old before the January transfer window closes.

The Germany international has been watched by Arsenal and Barcelona scouts, while he has previously attracted interest from Tottenham.


Chelsea confirm Giroud move

Chelsea have completed the signing of Olivier Giroud from Arsenal for an estimated £18 million.

The France international will join the Blues on an 18-month contract with an option to extend it for another year after the two clubs agreed a deal on Wednesday.

Aubmeyang completes £55m Arsenal move

Arsenal have completed the signing of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang from Borussia Dortmund for £55 million plus £5m in further add-ons.

Aubameyang, 28, has been subject of negotiations between the Gunners and Dortmund for several weeks, with Arsenal having refused to meet the Bundesliga side's €70m asking price.

Ozil to extend Gunners stay

Mesut Ozil is set to sign a new contract extension with Arsenal in the coming days,  Goal can confirm.

The Germany international's current deal is due to expire at the end of June but he is expected to commit himself to a new long-term contract at Emirates Stadium.

The situation was very different at the beginning of January, when the player had yet to decide where his future lay and speculation that Manchester United may move for him was abound.

Arsenal are among a host of clubs interested in Hoffenheim midfielder Kerem Demirbay, who has a €32 million release clause in his contract, reports Sport Bild .

Demirbay is reportedly ready to take the next step in his career, with the likes of Everton, Liverpool, Atletico Madrid and Schalke also watching the 24-year-old.

However, only former club Borussia Dortmund and AC Milan are currently prepared to meet the Germany international’s release clause.


Reine-Adelaide set for Angers loan

Angers are aiming to complete the signing of Arsenal midfielder Jeff Reine-Adelaide on loan for the rest of the season, according to L'Equipe .

Reine-Adelaide has not featured for Arsenal’s first team this season and is due to undergo a medical at Angers on Wednesday afternoon.

The 20-year-old is under contract at Arsenal until 2019, but there will be no option for Angers to turn the loan move into a permanent deal. 


Debuchy to join Saint-Etienne

Arsenal will allow Mathieu Debuchy to join Saint-Etienne on a free transfer, according to  L'Equipe .

The defender will be released from his Arsenal contract and allowed to move to the French side this winter. 


Chelsea agree £18m Giroud fee

Chelsea have come to an agreement with Arsenal over the sale of forward Olivier Giroud, Goal  understands.

Chelsea have been able to convince Arsenal to sell Giroud to them with Dortmund needing a replacement before sanctioning the sale of Aubameyang.

Dortmund have earmarked Michy Batshuayi, who will now be able to make a loan move to Germany to replace the Gabon international.

Barcelona sign Arsenal youngster

Marcus McGuane has joined Barcelona from Arsenal for an undisclosed fee, the Premier League club have confirmed.

The 18-year-old has completed a medical in Spain and signed a five-year contract that includes a release clause of €25 million.
