Arsenal news: Arsene Wenger signing a contract made the Gunners an afterthought, says Burley

That is the view of ESPN FC pundit and former Chelsea star Craig Burley.

Wenger signed a two-year extension to his Arsenal deal in May despite calls from large sections of support for him to leave.

The Gunners have had another difficult start to the season, losing three of their first eight Premier League games, including the loss to Watford on Saturday.

Burley says he was not surprised by the 2-1 reverse at Vicarage Road and has supported Troy Deeney’s comments, where the striker claimed Arsenal lack “cojones”.
