Arsenal news: Mesut Ozil contract talks stall as Inter Milan come calling

MESUT OZIL is having a stand-off with Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger as contract negotiations appear to have hit a new low, it is being reported.

Arsenal's Mesut Ozil shows off skills ahead of possible comeback

According to the Mirror, Wenger is only willing to offer Ozil £275,000-a-week while the German international is holding out for £350,000.

The report states that there is “growing disenchantment with Ozil’s attitude and recent performances, particularly after Saturday’s defeat at Watford.”

Arsenal look to be actively trying to offload the 29-year-old in the January transfer window.

Wenger has publicly admitted that Ozil and fellow star Alexis Sanchez could leave at the nearest opportunity.

Arsene Wenger must decide whether to sell Ozil or risk him walking for free

Both of their contracts are up at the end of the season and it is thought the Gunners will cash in on both of them rather than seeing them walk for free at the end of the season.

Manchester City are expected to come back in for Sanchez, and speculation regarding a cut-price £20million deal could come to fruition.

However, Arsenal have failed to receive any interest in their former Real Madrid playmaker.

Inter Milan have admitted that they are keen to take the German to the San Siro, and they could be unrivalled but they have yet to make a move.

If Luciano Spalletti's side formalise their interest then they could be virtually unchallenged and able to snatch the midfielder for a bargain price.

Ozil has yet to score in any of the seven matches he has played this season.
